Sunderland city centre, where the streets are bursting with energy, and with no shortage of local talent, one pizzeria is rising above the rest… Wild Fire Pizza has captured the hearts of not just the locals, but anyone that’s had the opportunity to get a slice of the action. Quickly becoming a local favourite, their dedication to innovation, passion for the perfect pizza, and commitment to the community, has cemented their footing as Tyne and Wear’s powerhouse. Let’s look a little closer at the Wild Fire Pizza success story…

Wild Fire Pizza had humble beginnings, coupled with an undeniable vision to bring second to none pizza to Sunderland. The founder, Josh Wild, began when he embarked on his  pizza pushing journey right in Sunderland City Centre, knocking out amazing pizza like no other in the city, and therefore regularly selling out. Starting as a pop-up, Wild Fire has now entered their second premises – after cooking in the beautiful boozer “The Ship Isis”, they are now cemented to their own restaurant (and bar) at Hanover Place, SR4 6BY.

A Vision Born in Sunderland

Wild Fire continues to offer simple yet effective pizza. Using only high quality seasonal and imported italian ingredients, cooked with a combination of traditional Neapolitan techniques, and a hint of fine dining – setting them aside from not just your usual pizza spots, but even the more upmarket restaurants in Tyne and Wear’s culinary scene.

Crafting the Perfect Pie

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking. What makes Wild Fire’s offerings so special? We believe it’s a combination of several factors:

1. Only using the highest quality ingredients

2. Flavour combinations like no other

3. Amazing dough, crafted to honour Neapolitan and Brooklyn slices, baked in a PizzaMaster

4.Curating a menu that pulls people together to enjoy not just pizza but, their famous meatballs, homemade dips, and maybe a pint of local beer or a glass of natural wine to go with it all.

A Community Connection

Wild Fire Pizza has built a strong connection to their local community, feeding the thousands with their Match Day specials and weekday combos. Over the years we have seen WFP attend and host events; visiting Wylam Brewery’s yearly Slice Wars and joining Midnight Pizza Cru at Pop Rec’s venue for an afternoon of Squares and Slices.

With a combination of classic and special pizzas, the Wild Fire Pizza lads have truly won the hearts of the community.

Navigating Challenges and Growing

Like any business that is destined for success, Wild Fire has faced some challenges… However, adapting their menu to meet customer demands, innovating their signature pizzas, and consistently delivering amazing dishes, shows how resilient and adaptable they are.

Conclusion

As the team continues to push the boundaries of the perfect scran, their dedication to their customers and their ever evolving menu, we believe this is what it means to build a business that not just feeds the hungry, but fuels the community’s soul.

The legend that is the “Wild Fire Pizza” is a testament to dedication, innovation and a community driven eats. Scaling from a small pop up, to one of Sunderlands must-see spots, we can only imagine what the future holds… but we know it’s going to be WILD!
